This screenshot shows a number of default features available in a recent version of Cream.
- Menu bar organizes all features into familiarly named menus
- Toolbar uses GNOME icons for a more colorful and friendly interface
- Syntax highlighting. In the scheme above (one of many possible schemes) commented lines are shown in blue, keywords in brown, variables in magenta, functions in cyan, and types in green.
- Line numbers are softly displayed in the left margin and can be turned off.
- Bookmark indications appear in the left-most margin as blue highlighted arrows
- Lines 1425 through 1858, highlighted in gray, are folded into five separate folds.
- The bottom status bar displays useful information. Above displays various groupings: filename (truncated due to window width but also displayed in the window title); file format, encoding and file type; file size; various editing states such as display of non-printing characters, wrap, autowrap, justification, wrap width; tab insertion (versus spaces), tab stop, autoindention; Vim mode; column, line and document position.
