The Document Viewer allows you to view text files, as well as view text and raw data versions of any file.

Using the Document Viewer, you can view the contents of any text file. You can also view the raw data that makes up any file, or source code for formats such as web pages.

Document Viewer Viewing Text
To open a text file, simply double click on the file and the document viewer will open automatically.

Viewing Files as Text
Any file may be viewed as if it were a text file. To view a file as text, select the file and choose View as Text from the File menu.

Note: Files that contain binary data and files which were not intended to be text files may appear odd.

Viewing Files as Raw Data
Any file may be viewed as raw data, and the Document Viewer will display the raw binary code used to store the file. To view a file as data, select the file and choose View as Raw Data from the File menu.

Note: You can close the raw data window by clicking anywhere on the surface of the window.
